Continuing our sermon series on people Jesus met, Jesus’s compassionate ministry, looking at how Jesus spent time with unexpected people and responded to them in unexpected ways.
Today’s readings:
Micah 4:1–4 The Mountain of the Lord
Luke 7:1–10 The Faith of the Centurion
Today, we look at Jesus’s meeting with a centurion – a Gentile and a Roman – and we learn a lesson in how God can use those who don’t know Him to teach us about faith. e.g. people we have preconceptions about, whom we might never think to share Jesus with; but they may have a greater faith than we realise.
— if we step out, we might be surprised at how they respond.
Do we recognise Jesus’s authority? Are we emboldened by it enough to step out in faith and take action?
