Trinity/Thanksgiving service (Proverbs 8:1-4 and 22-31, John 16:12-15)
Where does our money go? 2. Everything other than the Common Fund
Where does our money go? 1. The Common Fund
«Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you [only] love those who love you, what credit is that to you? […] Do not judge and you will not be judged, […] Give [forgive] and it will be given to you. … » (Luke 6:38)
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” (Matthew 6:24) “Rediscover the love of God […] and be prepared to give sacrificially in response to that love.”
We were joined today, 12th May, by Jo Chamberlain, who works in the Leeds Christian Aid office. Jo spoke passionately about the work of Christian Aid in Sierra Leone and around the world.
Stewardship – Focussing on what we do have, rather than what we don’t have. The financial challenges for the year ahead: thriving youth and children’s ministries, church maintenance, church organ. Remember, God won’t ask you for what you don’t have; God asks us to share, to use what we do have.
