ST TIMOTHY’S LUNCHCLUB FOR THE OVER SIXTIES

Meets Wednesdays 12.15-1.45pm

The Luncheon Club meets every week to provide members of our church and parish with a substantial two-course meal and beverages. Members enjoy the chance to sit and relax, chat with friends and meet new people. The food is prepared and served by a team of volunteers and is cooked on site. After the meal members enjoy a hot drink and a game of Bingo. Transport is available to collect members from home and take them to and from the club. Currently there are sixteen members, so we do have some available places for anyone wishing to join (ages range from mid 60’s to early 90’s). For more information please contact the Vicar, or Brian Grayson.

Extended edition!

As many people arrive for the Lunch club on the minibus, we now open the church centre from 11.00am for a warming cup of tea or coffee, and a service of Holy Communion  is held at 12.00pm, to which all are welcome, before it’s time for lunch in the Hall.

The Luncheon Club provides a vital link between St Tim’s and our local community. For many members it is their only opportunity to venture out and meet other people. The club would welcome volunteers to work on a monthly rota basis. This would involve serving meals, washing up and tidying away afterwards and chatting to the members. (approx 2hrs from 11.45am with free lunch included).
